Electrostatic Spraying, Painting throughout UK
What is Electrostatic Spraying?
Electrostatic spraying is a spray finish offered by specialised teams at Vanda Coatings throughout the UK. The electrostatic spraying process is the nearest possible finish to powder coating achievable in an onsite situation. Typically the items that we use our electrostatic equipment on are:
Shop front framework and doors,
signage and roller shutters.
Curtain walling sections
Aluminium doors and frames
Lift Doors
Staircases
Office furniture
And many other products made of metal.
Electrostatic spraying, how does it work?
Our special formulated paint is given a positive electrostatic charge. When the paint contacts with the spinning disk at the end of the electrostatic gun the paint becomes atomised. When the paint leaves the gun it is charged.
The surface to be painted (shop fronts, filing cabinets, staircases etc) is given a negative charge and the paint becomes adhered to the surface.
Once the positively charged paint has then been attracted to the negatively charged object, the magnetism is dispelled. If any remaining areas are positively charged the negatively charged paint will seek it. This will provide uniform coverage of the substrate.
The process of applying paint by electrostatic means that it also provides the opportunity of a wraparound effect which can not be achieved by other spraying methods. This is ideal for staircases that have stringers and balustrades that are difficult to recoat with conventional spraying equipment. Filing cabinets have been sprayed in live office environment with the contents remaining.
What are the benefits of using Electrostatic spraying?
Electrostatic spraying increases the quality of the finish and reduces overspray significantly, it also decreases paint costs, Is more environmentally friendly and makes the recoating of existing objects easy. The system is ideal for all areas where disruption must be kept to a minimum ( for instance shopping centres and furnished offices), but where high quality is important.
An electrostatic handgun is an improvement over conventional and HVLP equipment in that it has:
· a positive environmental impact
· reduced labour and material costs
· reduced air pollution VOC emissions
We have electrostatic spraying teams located throughout the UK enabling us to provide a quotation throughout the country.
